What are Limonen’s?
Natural oils present in citrus fruit peels called limonene or d-limonene. These natural oils are the plants’ natural defense against predators and have evolved to protect plants and fruits from pests. It is registered with the FDA as (GRAS) Generally Recognized as Safe as a food additive or flavoring and a fragrance additive.

How does it work?
The natural oils that is dispersed through our HomeGuard Genie, and for the yard, our YardGuard EZ Injector, works as a constant repellant for all insects, bugs, and spiders. It breaks down the wax lining that protects their respiratory system and will suffocate them if they stay. Most likely the majority of pests will find an exit. If they don’t exit, they will regret it.

What is the science?
According to the National Institute of Health, and included in the National Library of Medicine when doing studies on Limnene and d-limonene: “All tested materials showed increasing mortality, with increasing concentration against the third to fourth larval stages of mosquitoes.” The conclusion was “…limonene was successfully formulated in nanoemulsions with sufficient toxic properties against mosquito larvae, having the potential to be applied in integrated mosquito control programs.” Read more about this study in the National Library of Medicine -NIH.gov here
